About

"Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?"
-Mary Oliver, "The Summer Day"

In the modern day, we often let work, social media, complacency, money, societal expectations, fear, misplaced ambition or other noise get in the way of experiencing the joys this short life has to offer. Join Jess’ journey as she uses this blog to document her ventures outside her comfort zone, and hopefully, it will encourage you to do the same! She wants you to feel as if you are climbing mountains with her.

Jess Outdoors will focus on getting outdoors, communication, managing emotions (especially grief), conscious travel, sustainability, mindfulness, faith, and gratitude through the lens of a Los Angeles-born Filipina-American in her 20-somethings.

On a lighter note, Jess would also like her audience to know that she enjoys tennis, rock climbing, all kinds of dancing, crazy-long walks, showering with her plants, cooking overly-ambitious meals, singing show tunes, and chocolate peanut butter cups. Her goal in life is to live vicariously through herself.
